Meet our guide at your hotel in Ruse and begin the city tour with exploring the beautiful landmarks and architecture, for which Ruse is known as the “Little Vienna”. Continue to the outskirts of the city to visit one of Bulgaria’s UNESCO monuments- the 14th century rock hewn church in the village of Ivanovo. Our half day trip continues to the Rock Monastery of Bassarbovo- an active monument of Christianity, dated back to the beginning of the 20th century. Finally, visit the authentic 19th century house of the Bulgarian Craftsmen’s Fellowship in Ruse, which represents the traditions of the National Revival Period Architecture. Our guests there can observe traditional Bulgarian crafts and taste the real Bulgarian Yoghurt!

Whole day guided tour from Ruse
Begin your full day adventure with meeting our guide at your hotel in Ruse. The scenic drive through huge agricultural fields takes you to the Medieval Capital of Bulgaria- Veliko Tarnovo. Explore the grounds of the Tsarevets Fortress with our guide and enjoy breath taking views over the Balkan Mountain. A walk through the picturesque cobble stone streets of the Old Town will tell you a beautiful tale of the 18-19th century. In the afternoon continue to the village of Arbanassi to visit one of the most spectacular Bulgarian Churches- the 16th century Nativity Church with over 2000 biblical frescoes inside. Take a stroll in the peaceful streets of Arbanassi to discover the architectural traditions of the 18-19th century. Visit Konstantsaliev house, built in the 17th century, nowadays a museum, presenting the Bulgarian lifestyle during this period.

The tour starts at your hotel in the morning and takes you to two of the Bulgarian UNESCO monuments! First stop will be the Madara Horseman- a unique rock relief from the 7th century, listed in UNESCO’s world cultural heritage. Later we continue further north-east to the first Bulgarian capital- the town of Pliska- after the visit to the Basilica and the Throne Palace we will invite you for a lunch at a local restaurant. Our bus tour in the afternoon continues to the Archeological Reserve of Sboryanovo with its 4th century BC Thracian Tomb, nowadays part of UNESCO world cultural heritage, where you will learn about the mystic civilization, which inhabited the lands of Bulgaria in the Antiquity.

After having enjoyed the great summer experience of ALLEGRA in Ruse, continue exploring Bulgaria for 5 more days- discover the beautiful nature of the country, as well as some of its numerous sites of huge historical and cultural significance.

Day 1- Transfer from Ruse to Varna- the biggest Bulgarian city on the Black Sea coast; a stop on the way will reveal the secret of the Madara Horseman- one of Bulgaria’s UNESCO monuments. Upon arrival in Varna, check-in at your hotel and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the beach or join us for an optional tour to the Archeological museum, which stores the oldest golden treasure in the world! Overnight in Varna

Day 2- our tour continues along the coast to the Old Town of Nessebar (UNESCO)- a romantic rocky peninsula with valuable monuments from all periods of its long existence- remains of fortress walls from Roman times and the Middle Ages, old Byzantine and Bulgarian churches and charming 18th and 19th century houses. After the walking tour and free time there, continue to the second largest Bulgarian city- Plovdiv. Check-in and overnight in Plovdiv.

Day 3- discover the treasures of the romantic Old Town in the morning; visit the Antique Theater- the best preserved monument of Roman culture in Bulgaria and join us for an optional afternoon tour to the second largest Bulgarian Orthodox monastery- Bachkovo; overnight in Plovdiv.

Day 4- transfer from Plovdiv to Ruse- on the way visit the town of Kazanlak, famous for its rose oil distilleries and traditions in growing the Damascena Rose. Our tour goes to one of the local rose oil producing factories, followed by lunch at a traditional Bulgarian restaurant. Before departure to Ruse, visit the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, being another UNESCO monument in Bulgaria. Overnight in Ruse.

Day 5- transfer to Bucharest Airport.

Price is based on double occupancy includes – transportation with an air-conditioned vehicle (depending on group size- a minivan, minibus or bus), licensed tour guide throughout the whole trip, 4 overnights at 4 star hotels, entrance fees to all sites, part of the itinerary, 1 lunch in Kazanlak on Day 4, bottled water for every day of the tour, local tourist taxes, border fees on departure day.
